2000 Match Racing

Throughout winter, we hope to run some form of ‘match racing’ using our club 2000’s.
To start this off, we plan to have a ‘try a 2000’ day on Wednesday 25th October. The rough idea will be to have some general sailing in the 2000’s from 10:30 until 12:30, have a break for lunch then try some practice match races in the afternoon.
If all goes well, we’ll plan for a few Satudays during the winter season to have our match racing league, and find some form of match racing champion!
If interested, please let Kyle know (sailing@wobyc.com)

September dates

Wednesday 6th September – Last of the evening series, 1 race at 18:00 (keelboats) and 18:03 (dinghies). Followed by prizegiving and ‘bring a plate’ buffet.

Sunday 10th September – Powerboats on the broad – OSBO race. Start from Oulton Broad @10:45 – Two marks, both to port, one near the pontoons before the Somerleyton swing bridge, the other before the Waveney River Centre, you choose which one to go to first! – Finish near the Tea Gardens (not suitable for slow handicap boats)

Saturday 16th September – Barts Bash – Race @ 12:30 – please enter on the Bart’s Bash website.

Sunday 28th May

Due to powerboat racing in the afternoon, we will be running a slightly different programme.

The 2nd race will then start as soon as possible after everybody has finished the 1st race. It will follow the usual start procedure for race 2, so a 6 minute gap between the Fast Handicap an Keelboats, then the Slow Handicap 3 minutes after the Keelboats.
