Light winds and rain on Saturday gave way to sunshine and more breeze on Sunday, especially for the David Hannant handicap race on Sunday afternoon which was won by Ben Falat in his Phantom - and he also won the Calver Cup for being fastest round the course.

W15 Creeping Jenny wins Waveney Championships 2019

Congratulations to Trevor and Jake Balls, winners of this year's Waveney Worlds. They finished 1 point ahead of Simon Marfleet and Phil Large in Iris, with Chris Schonhut, Alex Calver and Steve Shipley 3rd overall in Brandy Bottle. Very close racing in glorious sailing conditions! Full results here.

Congratulations Joe Drake!

Joe Drake has won the Laser Standard section of the RYA Youth National Championships. With a super score that included 6 wins in the 9 race series, he dominated the fleet. Onwards and upwards!

About us…

The Waveney & Oulton Broad Yacht Club is one of the regions premier sailing clubs, and the only one in the broadland area to offer racing 52 weeks of the year.
Situated on the south side of Oulton Broad in Nicholas Everitt Park it boasts an enviable position with views of the whole sailing area from the grounds and each of the three balconies. Facilities include changing facilities, a canteen, stair and lift access to the first floor where there is a large bar area and the race control office or 'the box'. Outside there are two large floating pontoon jetties which offer safe and easy mooring.
WOBYC is a club run by its members for its members.
