About us…

The Waveney & Oulton Broad Yacht Club is one of the regions premier sailing clubs, and the only one in the broadland area to offer racing 52 weeks of the year.
Situated on the south side of Oulton Broad in Nicholas Everitt Park it boasts an enviable position with views of the whole sailing area from the grounds and each of the three balconies. Facilities include changing facilities, a canteen, stair and lift access to the first floor where there is a large bar area and the race control office or 'the box'. Outside there are two large floating pontoon jetties which offer safe and easy mooring.
WOBYC is a club run by its members for its members.

WOBYC SUMMER WEEKEND REGATTA 1st-2nd July

Spread the word! We've got a Weekend Regatta coming up that offers racing for dinghies and keelboats plus the chance to have fun on Saturday evening - but we need your help. Please bring food for the buffet supper . . . and any musical instruments you can play! We're hoping to make it an evening where we entertain each other with our musical talents. Please don't be shy!

Then on Sunday afternoon we could do with some cakes for the prize-giving tea. Any volunteers for baking?

It promises to be a great weekend!

WOBYC JUNIORS

Whitsun Week was great, with over 30 juniors sailing and plenty of warm sunshine. Well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to the instructors and all the helpers, especially Maxine who provided the lunches.

Tuesday evening sessions are now underway. If any more juniors would like to join in, please contact Veronica Falat by email at sailing@wobyc.com

We will run a couple of junior sailing days during the summer holidays. Watch out for info about these. In the meantime, junior sailors are very welcome to try their hand at club racing on Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

WOBYC EVENTS CALENDAR 2017

A list of WOBYC events is now on the website. Check out Events Calendar 2017. It includes a list of major events and then a month-by-month list of all sorts of things. These lists are likely to have items added as the year goes on - so keep your eyes on them!
