USE OF CRANE:  Squib and Waveney owners may now use the crane by contacting David Gooch and booking a time slot. (If you don't have David's contact details, email sailing@wobyc.com.) Please note that crane users should take responsibility for their own Covid-19 safety.

SAILING: The clubhouse is closed but leisure sailing is allowed in privately-owned boats. The club sailing dinghies are not available. Please follow all the government guidelines for protecting yourself and others from the coronavirus. Be sensible and don't take risks out on the water. The club safety boats are currently not in action.

RACING: Club racing is not expected to start before July.

Coronavirus situation – Racing and Social Events called off

Because of the Coronavirus situation and to comply with the Government’s guidelines to minimise social contact and avoid unnecessary travel, the decision has been made to stop racing temporarily at WOBYC with immediate effect.

This means the winter season has already come to an end. We will inform you as to when the prize-giving will be.

We will review this situation at the end of April. The Squib Broadland Regatta (March 28-29) is already cancelled as will be the Laser & Singehander open (April 5th). The Fitting Out Supper, Lady Mayhew race and the starts of the Saturday and Sunday summer points series will be postponed.

Squib Broadland Regatta – 28th-29th March 2020 CANCELLED

About us…

The Waveney & Oulton Broad Yacht Club is one of the regions premier sailing clubs, and the only one in the broadland area to offer racing 52 weeks of the year.
Situated on the south side of Oulton Broad in Nicholas Everitt Park it boasts an enviable position with views of the whole sailing area from the grounds and each of the three balconies. Facilities include changing facilities, a canteen, stair and lift access to the first floor where there is a large bar area and the race control office or 'the box'. Outside there are two large floating pontoon jetties which offer safe and easy mooring.
