RESTARTING SAILING

For now (until further notice), racing and other club organised activities are for members only.
The clubhouse and toilets/changing rooms will remain closed. (except for safety/box team access)

Weekend racing April 10th-11th

Saturday 10th is first day of points racing for dinghies and ‘warm-up’ racing for keelboats. It’s Programme A (with 1st start at 14.06 – that’s a bit earlier than in recent years) but, because the clubhouse isn’t open yet, the racing will be back-to-back, so the second series of starts may be brought forward to reduce the time between races.

Sunday 11th starts off with the Lady Mayhew all-comers race at 10.15, followed by class races from 11.30.

Keelboat series

Races for Waveneys, Squibs and BOD’s in April will count towards a ‘Warm up series’ with the main points series to start in May. (This excludes the End of Lockdown Regatta)
This is to give owners a chance to work on their boats before the main series starts.

End of Lockdown Regatta – Sunday 4th April

What a super day that was! Results are here.

About us…

The Waveney & Oulton Broad Yacht Club is one of the region’s premier sailing clubs, and the only one in the broadland area to offer racing 52 weeks of the year.
Situated on the south side of Oulton Broad in Nicholas Everitt Park it boasts an enviable position with views of the whole sailing area from the grounds and each of the three balconies. Facilities include changing facilities, a canteen, stair and lift access to the first floor where there is a large bar area and the race control office or ‘the box’. Outside there are two large floating pontoon jetties which offer safe and easy mooring.
