OULTON WEEK 2026: 23rd to 28th AUGUST

ENTRIES MUST BE MADE IN ADVANCE. The entry form is here: OULTON WEEK ENTRY FORM 

Entries are to be received by the club by 5 pm on Saturday 22nd August. Please fill the form in, specifying you, your crew, your boat and the races you want to compete in for the week. 

Entry fees: Each week long race series is £10 for those aged 18 or under and £20 for everyone else. If you want to enter an individual race (eg the Bloodbath), then the fees are £2 for 18 and under and £4 for adults per race.

Having filled the form in, please pay here: On-line, using Bank Transfer, to: "Waveney and Oulton Broad Yacht Club Ltd" at HSBC.

Paper entries, and cash / card payments will also be accepted up to 17:00 on Saturday 22nd, direct to Kyle in the Caravan at WOBYC.

LATE ENTRIES may be accepted (depending on the number of boats already competing in that race). Late entry fees are £3 for under-19 and £6 per race for adults. 


Fast Handicap is for dinghies with PY of 1162 or less. In addition, K1 and Flying Fifteen keelboats are permitted to compete in Fast Handicap races. 

Slow Handicap is for dinghies with PY of 1163 to 1665. The Race Committee may invite certain slow handicap boats to race in Fast Handicap series. 

The Lasers/ILCAs class race in the mornings is for standard rig (ILCA 7), radial rig (ILCA 6) and 4.7 (ILCA 4). Handicaps will apply. You can change to a smaller rig during the week, but will be scored with the handicap that applies to the rig you entered with. You cannot change to larger rigs. At other times of the day, standard and radial rigs will sail in Fast Handicap races, while the 4.7's will be in the Slow Handicap. 

Optimists have their own class races in the mornings. 

Norfolk Dinghies will sail in Slow Handicap races. The first Norfolk in the 15.21 Slow Handicap series will be awarded the Tideway Tankard.

Hansa 303 Dinghies will race on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only. 

Mixed One Designs is restricted to W.O.D, B.O.D., Y&B.O.D. and Squibs. 

The mixed Yeoman and Squib race at 14:12 will be a handicap race. The first Squib will be awarded the Norman Blower Trophy.

River Cruiser split start will be decided by the class. Please note: the Fast and Slow fleets will sail in separate races but both will count toward the final results. 

Blackburn Trophy: Four-a-side Keelboat Team Race between WOD, BOD, Y&BOD and Squibs. Helms must have competed in a class race during Oulton Week 2025 of the class they are chosen to represent. 

The Bloodbath Race on Friday afternoon is an Allcomers average lap handicap race with a split start - Fast boats at 15:15, slower boats at 15:18. See club noticeboard for list of classes/boats in each start. 

Briefing and Commodores Reception: Saturday 22nd August at 19.00 hrs 

Prize giving: Friday 28th at 18.30 hrs under the awning.
